Thrift Shopping!!

Coming up with blogging content is tough (have you noticed the lack of activity?!)! I'm sure I'll get the hang of this soon, but I just always forget to take pictures, or write stuff down in time, etc etc...

Anyway...So one of my best friends and I plan to go thrift shopping today for our FIRST TIME EVER! I'm supes excited, but also supes nervous! And I'll let you know how it goes, hopefully tonight! But I've been inspired by so many bloggers to try this out, so...hopefully well!

Winter Nail Art!

I love nail polish, and when I say "love", I mean LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE. My collection is definitely not as big as Temptalia's or even Juicystar07's, but my friends' jaws drop when I bring out my nail polish case that weighs a good couple pounds. I should show you all sometime! Nail polish for me is always a little pick me up because it's fairly inexpensive and there's never-ending variety. I don't know if you've heard of the "lipstick effect" but it's an economic theory of women's buying trends that says when the economy is not doing as well, lipstick sales rise because they're a fairly inexpensive item a girl can easily use as a "pick me up". Pretty much the case with me and nail polish.

Case in point: over the past couple days I bought a total of 8 polishes to add to my collection...Most of them are glittery, but all are beautiful! I got them from Phoenix Beauty Lounge, where they have an amazing selection, and there was a deal, too! The first were 3 polishes (any brand) with 15% off, and then when I went back, I got 5 polishes for 20% off. Ahhh---mazing! And the store owner is super nice and helpful! Definitely check the store out if you can at Pacific Mall in Toronto, or you can shop online at phoenixbeautylounge.com. I haven't had a chance to try all of these out yet, but I can't wait to!

My haul from left to right: Essie Trophy Wife, Essie Pure Pearlfection, Essie Gold as it Gets, Essie Shine of the Times, China Glaze Snowglobe, China Glaze Fairy Dust, China Glaze CG in the City, OPI Be a Dahlia Won't You?

Anyway...I love nail polish, and I love nail art just as much! I had a number of winter designs I wanted to try, but since I only have two sets of nails, I decided to try some out of my friends! Christmas is right around the corner, so you still have a chance to try out some of these easy, pretty nail designs!
On my toes: Sally Hansen HD Blue and OPI Give Me the Moon (mixed together) with Sephora by OPI Sparkle Me Silver on the tips.
OPI All A-Bordeaux the Sleigh with Sephora by OPI Only Gold for Me on the tips.

You can tell one of my favourite easy nail design combinations is having glittery tips, like a French manicure. It's a really easy look that's elegant and fun at the same time, and can be done with almost any colour combination.

On my friend: OPI Jade is the New Black, a red OPI (forget the name, sorry!), with Nail Art Deco in silver glitter, striped across.

On my friend: China Glaze For Audrey, with snowflakes in OPI Alpine Snow, and silver glitter from Nail Art Deco.
Again with the glittery tips! OPI Pearl of Wisdom on the nail base, China Glaze CG in the City on the tips.

OPI All A-Bordeaux the Sleigh as the base, Essie Shine of the Times as a top coat. Above picture is with flash, below is in natural light.

Whew! That was kind of a long post, but hope you enjoyed it!

Stay lovely! <3

All Gone!

This really should have been posted like, a week ago, but things got a little busy! Basically, all the snow melted within one day, so while it was all pretty and everyone was taking pictures, by the next morning, it was like the whole winter wonderland had never happened!
Excuse the window netting and window lattices...But you can clearly see...No snow!

Military Jacket: Talula, Jeans: American Eagle, Boots: Aldo, Bag: Longchamp

Oh well, with the warmer weather comes lighter jackets! The warmer weather is kind of nice this time of year, for a change as well!

Un peu de neige et de francais

Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to see this...

SNOWWWW!!!! I got super excited and it made me start thinking of Christmas and snow angels and snow ball fights and skating and skiing and walks in the snow! I walked to class that day with the biggest grin on my face, since our street had literally transformed over night, and everything looked beautiful! Of course, it meant now was the time to start dressing warm and cozy! So here was my outfit today:

Scarf: Gap, Sweater: Lola's Closet, Jeans: American Eagle, Boots: Aldo, Ring: Girlprops.com

The snowier weather also means appropriate outerwear, of course! I love berets as a cold weather hat, since they add an cutesy, feminine touch to any outfit, especially with a bow detail like the one below. They also let you channel your French side! C'est chouette, n'est ce pas? <3

Peacoat: Le Chateau, Scarf: pashmina, Hat: Forever 21

Do you enjoy fresh snowfalls as much as I do?
Stay lovely! <3

Hello : )

Hello everyone, thank you for stopping by my blog! I'm very new at this, but it's something I've definitely been wanting to try for a long time. I've just always been afraid to start...I feel like having a blog is a bit like having a diary for everyone to read, so it's a little intimidating sharing your most intimate thoughts with so many people! But by writing this blog I hope to get to know myself a little bit better, as well as connect with you, and many other beautiful people in this world!

My goal with this blog is to share my thoughts about beauty, inside and out...As well as ways to continue to grow that beautiful side of you. When you put your best face forward, it gives you the confidence to succeed at whatever you decide to do, and when others see your confidence, they're likely to be inspired as well. We should do our best to promote these healthy environments for ourselves and those around us, as it's when we feel good that we're most likely to do good.

This blog is going to be mostly a fashion/style blog and a beauty blog...with smatterings of yoga, dance, tea, artsy stuff, music, nerding out, television...food, because I mean we all love these things, right? And they're all the things that make us beautiful. And I also think some attempted humour will be in order too. I can't wait to start this journey, and I hope you'll join me!

I'll finish off this post with this picture of how I most often spend my Sunday mornings. I'm an early riser (as Blossom from the Powerpuff Girls said, "Early to bed, early to wake, makes a girl smart, pretty, and great!"), and so I always go to Sunday morning yoga at Lululemon, a yoga apparel store that promotes healthy active living. Then, I finish up with either a David's Tea or Starbucks...Since now it's the start of the holiday season, I thought I'd pick up my favourite holiday drink....A Caramel Brulee Latte from Starbucks. It's absolute deliciousness in a 12oz cup. If you haven't tried one already, DO IT NOW! : )

With that, I hope you enjoy the last day of the weekend!
Stay Lovely. <3
